Here's What It Feels Like to Message 100+ Celebs

Here's What It Feels Like to Message 100+ Celebs
By Tim Liwanag

IN THE PRESENT WORLD, everyone feels stress at one time or another, so to deal with it I focus on positivity to stay motivated and productive. Or, I'd literally search for Filipino role models, even do-gooders with influence and power, because they have the gift to change people's perspective.

Uh-oh, the intimidating and domineering on pedestals are out! The untouchables are not only dated, they have no place in alternative media where new personalities are being shown with feelings and flaws. Have you noticed that lately?

So, if you're looking for some Filipino Trailblazers who move, challenge, and persuade the way our digital world works today, here's a directory of truly authentic people you could learn from.

Honestly, it's hard to promote a book without any celeb endorser nowadays. I'm simply anonymous, but I've learned to communicate through a laptop screen. And I'm not regarding myself as more gifted or special than others. So I've approached these trailblazers and asked them to consider promoting other iconic Filipinos, from Luis Manzano to Brillante Mendoza, from those who are exposed on stage and those who are working behind the curtains. I've privately messaged and tweeted to a 100+ celebs that First Filipino World Records is now available at Amazon.com.

It wasn't quite what I was expecting, but some responded and accepted me as a friend in facebook. This is engaging the reader. Yes, celebs are readers too. Call it grit with the right motivation if you want, but this is the new social reality, this is digital citizenship. Oh, I've chatted a thousand times with somebody I've never met. This is how we connect online and I'm looking forward to meaningful conversations with them.

I am sure that many will buy the book. Hey, it's not about being the best really; it's about being better than you were yesterday. It's about learning from those who did better. It's being other-conscious too. And this is what I see: I think First Filipino World Records will be a positive force in their lives!

Tim Pagaduan Liwanag was raised in Manila, Philippines by his parents. His interest in history and pro-Filipino blogs became the groundwork for his book that promotes achievements of Filipino Trailblazers. Recently, his published work on the apocalypse of first-century Jewish nation gave him the recognition of being the first Filipino author to write a book on fulfilled eschatology.

Outside his intellectual hobbies and his fascination for ancient scripts like Baybayin, the pre-colonial Philippine writing system, he definitely likes watching superhero and sci-fi movies with family and friends.

A Restraining order (also called a “protective order”) is a court order that can protect someone from being physically or sexually abused, threatened, stalked, or harassed. The person getting the restraining order is called the “protected person.” The person the restraining order is against is the “restrained person.” Sometimes, restraining orders include other “protected persons” like family or household members of the protected person.

What does a restraining order do?
In general restraining orders can include:

Personal conduct orders
These are orders to stop specific acts against everyone named in the restraining order as a “protected person.” Some of the things that the restrained person can be ordered to stop are:
Contacting, calling, or sending any messages (including e-mail);
Attacking, striking, or battering;
Stalking;
Threatening;
Sexually assaulting;
Harassing;
Destroying personal property; or
Disturbing the peace of the protected people.
Stay-away orders
These are orders to keep the restrained person a certain distance away (like 50 or 100 yards) from:
The protected person or persons;
Where the protected person lives;
His or her place of work;
His or her children’s schools or places of child care;
His or her vehicle;
Other important places where he or she goes.
Residence exclusion (“kick-out” or “move-out”) orders
These are orders telling the restrained person to move out from where the protected person lives and to take only clothing and personal belongings until the court hearing. These orders can only be asked for in domestic violence or elder or dependent adult abuse restraining order cases.
For the person to be restrained, having a restraining order against him or her can have very serious consequences:

He or she will not be able to go to certain places or to do certain things.
He or she might have to move out of his or her home.
It may affect his or her ability to see his or her children.
He or she will generally not be able to own a gun. (And he or she will have to turn in, sell or store any guns they have now and not be able to buy a gun while the restraining order is in effect.)
It may affect his or her immigration status if he or she is trying to get a green card or a visa.
If the restrained person violates (breaks) the restraining order, he or she may go to jail, or pay a fine, or both.

A Restraining Order
is an order used by a court to protect a person, business, company, establishment, or entity, and the general public, in a situation involving alleged domestic violence, child abuse, assault, harassment, stalking, or sexual assault. In the United States, every state has some form of domestic violence restraining order law, and many states also have specific restraining order laws for stalking and sexual assault.

A Process Server
person who serves legal documents, as subpoenas, writs, or warrants, especially those requiring appearance in court.

After all, restraining orders are often used in sensitive situations, requiring a party to comply, or face criminal or civil penalties. It can be difficult to get legal documents to either the plaintiff or the defendant. These orders of protection and legal injunctions cover situations such as stalking, harassment, domestic violence, and assault. With these situations in mind, we know just how important it is to serve a restraining order rapidly and accurately.
